Schwarz (Multiple Sclerosis: 300 Tips for Making Life Easier) writes from her own life; she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 1979 and has used her experience in books and a syndicated column, "Making Life Easier," to help people with MS or Parkinson's. Her latest book is aimed at readers who want to make their home more accessible for themselves, other residents, or visitors. Her practical tips cover every room in the house. Schwarz discusses the pros and cons of costly assistive devices to help people decide whether they are necessary for their particular situation. There are many resource and product lists for those who want specific recommendations. Schwarz's experience shines through in the details she has added about what worked for her as she adjusted to her limited mobility. VERDICT This is sure to be a useful book. Whether readers are looking to adjust to a serious illness or aging, it will be a great resource.--Mindy Rhiger, Minneapolis
